Most Marvel movies I will happily rewatch when they come on the box, but this one I’m not sure I’d have the strength to sit through again. Review
I really wasn’t expecting much from this, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a movie that has some memorable moments. At nearly 140 minutes I felt it outstayed its welcome by about 20 minutes. But otherwise I’d recommend you give it a try. Review
Thought-provoking and a memorable movie experience. Well recommended, if you’re willing to be challenged by a film. Review
The trailer promised a lot, but the movie delivered very little for me. It just all felt to me like an affront to the memory of Diana. Review
Highly recommended, if you are content to stomach some violent (and quite disturbing) horror imagery. Review
Sometimes a little movie appears that surprises and delights you, and this was one of those for me. It’s not big and it’s not clever. But it is very nicely made, thoroughly entertained me and was – for me – way better than its source movie. Review
This is a movie that MUST be seen on the big screen. It’s a memorable movie experience and highly recommended. Review
You’ll already judge from my balance of comments that this one just didn’t work for me. Even as a “park your brain at the door” action movie, I thought it felt lazy and lacklustre. Review
This is Ridley Scott back on top form again. I found this a gripping watch. Review
At 145 minutes though, it takes its time telling its story, and I think a tighter, shorter film would have worked better. Review
Indeed there are the occasional flashes of brilliance with certain scenes. But neither did I find it so engrossing that it’s going to trouble my top 20 for the year. Review
I thought this was a fabulous Bond film. Full of drama, action, humour and deep-seated emotion. Couldn’t be better for me, and certainly on a par with Casino Royale and Skyfall for me as my favourite Craig outings. Review
It’s a cracking little British film. It deserves a major cinema release, but I suspect this is one that you might need to hunt out at your less mainstream cinemas. But please do so – it’s well worth it. Very much recommended. Review
There’s almost a good little action film buried in here struggling to get out. Review
Director Prano Bailey-Bond co-wrote this and directs it with such verve that she is very much added to my “one to watch” list for writer-directors. Review
But then came the film itself. The result was that about two-thirds in I was really willing it to end. Review
If you like your scary films, then this one is highly recommended. Review
The most unusual film I think I’ve ever reviewed on One Mann’s Movies, but very interesting. As horror goes, it’s short, sharp and horrific! Review
It’s a lovely little short film, that’s very sweet and beautifully filmed. One for hopeless romantics everywhere. Review
It’s a tribute to the team and their TV-series director Jack Clough, in his feature debut, that they pretty much pull it off. Review
We’ve been here so many times before that it’s almost a (bloody) paint by numbers. But I have to admit that I thought this one was well done, and a cut above the norm. Review
As a true-life spy story, the movie is interesting and Cumberbatch’s performance is brilliant. But I can’t say that I was 100% grabbed by it. Review
It’s a blast that I enjoyed immensely. There is little original under the movie sun, and this is no exception. It strays significantly into Spielberg’s Ready Player One, especially towards the end of the movie. But I personally found the closest resonance was with Peter Weir’s peerless The Truman Show. Review
Zac Snyder’s glossy zombie flick is a valiant attempt, and it has its moments. The story neatly blends a zombie apocalypse with an Oceans heist movie. You even get some stirring Die Hard-style vault opening music! But a weak script and a flabby running time make this rather hard work to get through in one sitting. Review
