Met Reynolds, de verwijzingen en humor als voornaamste pluspunten moeten we echter wel toegeven dat het verhaal niet zoveel om het lijf heeft én dat niet elke live-action versie er even goed uitziet.

Pikachu die flauwe opmerkingen maakt en koffie drinkt is natuurlijk best grappig, maar het is wel weer hetzelfde trucje als bij Deadpool: een sarcastische Ryan Reynolds achter een masker.
